In Their Own Story

During the investigation into the destruction of the Star Bridge, Brother Dusk advocated for clemency regarding the detained delegations from Anacreon and Thespis, a stance that contrasted sharply with Brother Day's decision to order public executions and orbital bombardments. Later, in the episode "The Mathematician's Ghost," Dusk assumed the mantle of Brother Darkness before being euthanized as part of the traditional transfer of power where a new Dawn is decanted and the current Day retires. His final significant actions occurred when he discovered that the rebel movement had tampered with Cleon genetics, revealing that the bloodline was tainted. Fearing this corruption would spell doom for the empire, Dusk insisted that his vulnerable successor, Dawn, be destroyed. However, Brother Day showed compassion and refused. Ultimately, it was Lady Demerzel who recognized the danger Dawn posed to the dynasty's integrity and killed him instead.
